Accessible Beach "Io Posso" in San Foca

The Terrazza "Io Posso" at San Foca is Italy’s first fully accessible beach, designed specifically for people with severe motor disabilities such as ALS and other neuromuscular conditions. This beach, located in the beautiful coastal town of San Foca in Salento, allows individuals with disabilities and their families to enjoy the seaside in a safe and inclusive environment. Since its founding in 2015 by the Io Posso project and supported by the non-profit association 2HE, the beach provides free access to facilities including dedicated bathing assistance, nurse support, and medical equipment. The initiative emphasizes inclusivity, breaking down physical barriers to offer a fully enjoyable and stress-free beach experience for all.
